Boron Nitride Tube Description

Boron nitride, or BN, is a chemical compound with equal numbers of boron and nitrogen atoms. The hexagonal boron nitride (HBN) corresponding to "white graphite" is the softest and most stable form among BN polymorphs, and is therefore used as a lubricant and an additive to cosmetic products. The cubic (CBN) variety analogous to diamond has a high hardness which is inferior only to diamond. The rare wurtzite BN (WBN) modification is similar to lonsdaleite, and it may even be harder than CBN.

Boron nitride tubes could be connected together to make longer boron nitride tubes, with flat or threaded joints presented below.

Boron Nitride Tube Advantages

- Low wetability to molten metal
- Low dielectric constant
- Relatively high dielectric strength
- Relatively high thermal conductivity with low thermal expansion
- Relatively high thermal shock resistance
- Extremely high working temperature with proper inert gas protection (>3000C has been recorded).
- Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD)

Boron Nitride Tube Applications

Boron Nitride ceramic from Advanced Ceramic Materials (ACM) can withstand high temperature in a high vacuum environment, plus it is chemically inert -- it has excellent corrosion resistance and electrical resistance. Thus, Boron Nitride ceramic product is an ideal choice in a wide range of industries, such as:

-Electric insulators in vacuum system
-Boron Nitride ceramic components for PVD, MOCVD, MBE system.
-Nozzles for the nonferrous metals metallurgy industry
-Spacers for glass melting
-Insulators for high-temperature furnace
